Hospital for Special Care (HSC) is recognized for advanced care and rehabilitation in pulmonary care, acquired brain injury, medically-complex pediatrics, neuromuscular disorders, spinal cord injury, comprehensive heart failure and comprehensive inpatient and outpatient treatment for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder.

The Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) will have the responsibility for promoting excellence in patient care by serving as a clinical role model, physician extender, educator, consultant and researcher. APRN will provide those patient care services in collaboration with a Connecticut licensed physician who is qualified by experience, education, and training to provide such direction. APRN will continuously assess designated patients and family care needs and collaborate with the treatment team and hospital administration to provide high quality patient care.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Required: Masters Degree in Nursing with a defined clinical specialty.
* Required: Minimum of five years experience in related clinical practice with demonstrated leadership and teaching skills.
* Required: Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut and current certification in a specialty from the American Nursing Association.
* Required: Passed the State of Connecticut approved Pharmacology course required in Masters Degree Program.
* Required: DEA licensure required for narcotic prescription.
* Required: Basic and life support certification and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS training).
