This project site is located at the U.S. Army Garrison Hospital on the island of Kwajalein Atoll. The hospital serves more than 1,400 residents, which include military personnel, Army Civilians, contractors, and family members. Kwajalein is home to one of the worlds largest coral atolls and surrounds one of the largest lagoons in the world. Kwajaleins year round warm, sunny weather supports a variety of activities, such as scuba diving, sport fishing, sailing, and water skiing. The Occupational Health Nurse COHN will be responsible for employment-related health screenings.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Consistently and promptly communicating any changes in patients conditions to medical provider and documenting all patient care provided as well as any follow up care that may be required.
  • Administering all medications as prescribed by medical professional and documenting within the patients EMR.
  • Relaying appropriate reports and hand off communication to ensure continuity of care.
  • Reviewing patient charts for completeness and accuracy in accordance with documentation protocols prior to and after the surgical procedure. Assuring appropriate consent forms are in place prior to procedure.
  • Improve procedural processes, obtain approvals, and remain abreast of new developments and policy requirements.
  • Active participation in Mass Casualty exercises and events. Performance of other duties as assigned.
  • Experience Required:
  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience
  • Occupational Health experience
  • Education Required:
  • Current & Unrestricted license or authorizing document from any US State, District of Columbia or US Territory to provide healthcare within scope of practice.
  • :

  • Associates degree in Nursing is required (Bachelors degree preferred) from anaccredited nursing program.
  • Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Certification by the American Heart Association - Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) is preferred.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.
  • Other Special Qualifications:
  • Must be able to read, write andspeak English to effectively communicate
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
  • US DOD CNACIclearance or the ability to obtain one is required.
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll.
